How to Make a Body Wrap at Homethumbnail
Body Wrap

Wondering how to make a body wrap at home? This article shows how to make a home body wrap for yourself, or perhaps as an option for a spa party or as a gift to a friend. The home body wrap works just like the salon or body wrap kits do, they hold healing and beautifying liquids against the skin for a prolonged period of time. Some produce positive results after one session. Others transform the body over time. Here's how to make a body wrap at home.

Difficulty:

Moderately Easy

Instructions

    • 1
Obtain your home body wrap fabric and accessories. Either purchase unbleached muslin or recycle a white cotton sheet, and cut the fabric into the sizes large enough to wrap around the chosen body parts twice. Obtain enough ace bandages to hold the wet fabric in place.

Make a body wrap environment. For a home body wrap, you'll need a warm, soft, water and stain resistant place to lie down for 45 minutes. The best place is usually in the bathtub. The smaller bathroom can be heated to your liking, and you can place an air mattress (even just a cheap kids' swimming air mattress) in the tub for comfort. If you don't have a tub, protect your bathroom floor or carpet with newspapers or plastic, and lay an air mattress on the floor. Then set up some sort of entertainment such as a book on tape or a radio station unless you prefer to just lie for 45 minutes in a quiet bathroom. If you feel you'll get too cold, you can purchase an inexpensive thermal camping blanket to put over you during your home body wrap session. Finally, you'll need a clock or timer that you can easily see from where you'll be laying during your treatment.

Choose and make your body wrap healing mixture. What liquid ingredients do you want in your home body wrap? Coffee and seaweed are detoxifiers and used for cellulite reduction. Sea salt is said to remineralize the skin. Honey hydrates and heals blemishes, and herbs such as clary sage, comfrey root, burdock root, oatmeal, dandelion root, rose hips, alfalfa leaf, rosemary, and chamomile are all very healing and detoxifying. All of the above can be blended, or you can concentrate on just one or two. Obtain the ingredients at the bulk herb area of your health food store or a regular grocery store. Steep one part dry ingredients to three parts water by pouring boiling water over the ingredients in a bowl. Strain. If adding honey to your home body wrap, add one tablespoon to one cup of warm water. You'll need enough liquid to completely soak all the fabric you'll be using with your home body wrap.

Enjoy your home body wrap. Fill a clean plastic tub or very large dish with your home body wrap liquid. Soak the fabric pieces, wring them out slightly, then wrap and secure them with the ace bandages. Do not make the bandages tight. Loss of circulation is the last thing you need for health and beauty. Turn on your entertainment if you have it, then lay back for 45 minutes. When complete, pat yourself dry. Some like to rub in olive oil as a finishing touch to their home body wrap treatment.

The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.
My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83
views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it with someone!

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something that I think I would never understand.

It seems too complicated and very broad for
me. I'm looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
